Written in collaboration with CIIE.Co, this report lays out the global state of the alternative protein industry, emphasising the economic, sustainability, and public health benefits of the sector. It also highlights the value Indian science, business, and investment can offer, with the vision to position India as a strong bio-manufacturing hub for innovative, affordable, and accessible products for domestic and global markets.
The regulatory status of cultivated meat
This report provides an overview of the regulatory landscape present in several countries to regulate cultivated proteins. The
report also calls attention to activities by multiple governments and their policymakers to recognise smart protein by including it within their national climate goals, increasing the public funding towards R&D, participating in public-private partnerships, and playing a pivotal role in educating consumers about the emerging categories within the sector.
